"Pokémon" is a franchise spanning video games, trading card games, anime tv series, film series, books, manga, music, toys, and other miscellaneous merchandise. Fictionally, Pokémon, or "Pocket Monsters", are creatures with special powers, able to evolve in a short period of time (compared to Earth's species). They are typically sought after to be trained (by "Pokémon Trainers") to fight other Pokémon for sport. Sounds cruel, doesn't it? There is no age limit to Pokémon. People from all over the world become obsessed over collecting them all through their video games, trading cards, toys, you name it. In fact, The English slogan for the franchise is "Gotta Catch 'Em All"! Note: The main Pokémon trainer's name is Ash Ketchum!
